About Amro Music

Amro Music in Memphis is one of the largest and most respected musical instrument stores in the U.S. The company was founded in 1921 by Mil Averwater and is now operated by the third and fourth generations of the Averwater family.

Amro specializes in pianos, organs, and school band and orchestra instruments. Serving both Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee, it features one of the largest selections of musical instruments in the world, with over 400 instruments on display and over 10,000 instruments in stock. All instruments — band, orchestra, pianos, organs — are available for rent or purchase.

Virtually all of the most respected musical instrument brands are stocked, including Accent, Bach, Boston, Conn, Eastman, Essex, Henry F. Miller, King, Selmer, Steinway, Yamaha, and many more, in both new and used.

Eight Amro educational representatives make weekly visits to almost every school in the Mid-South in the states of Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Kentucky. Eighteen professional musical instrument repair technicians repair more than 14,000 instruments per year with an average turnaround of fewer than 2 days.
